I've asked about referral
I've asked if A2B2 have any kind of referral system. I'll post when they get back to me.
As for my VPS setup - I have 15Gb of space (currently using around 5Gb including around 1 week of rotating backup), 512Mb RAM (burstable to 1Gb) & around 200Gb bandwidth per month (which is on a 100Mb connection which is shared between myself and the other VPS users, I think its on a fair-share basis). This cost me (very recently) £177.66 for 1 year - that works out at just under £15 a month.
I'm running Apache, however I have disabled a lot of the mod's I dont need (like WebDAV, etc). This reduced the Apache thread sizes.
I also have the advantage that I can tweak about with things like phpEaccelerator to speed up code running time and MySQL QCache to optimize queries.
